An Alt-1 application was filed with the Department of Buildings last week for 445 Troutman Street (at St. Nicholas Ave), to “convert existing gas station/garage into an eating and drinking establishment.”
The new lease holder - Gates of Steel LLC - is the brainchild of musicians Montana Masback and Denis Bramley, who are planning a “country-style” restaurant for the space, with help from Chris Katchuka and Jesse Crawford (an owner of the well-received but short-lived Honeychile’s in Williamsburg).
The building - owned by GCM Steel Products - was previously occupied by Morillo Auto Repair.
